DF Process - HardFilm
Your Clients Demand the Best. Deliver it with Our Digital Film Processing

The custom designed storage solution to meet the demands of professional digital photography

As the size of digital files increase, especially in medium format photography, professionals require a reliable, secure, and rugged solution to address their storage needs both on location and in the studio.

Originally designed for military use, HardFilm™ is a shock mounted hard drive system for the distribution and archiving of digital images. Most hard drives available today will lose data after being dropped only a few inches. HardFilm can be dropped over two feet onto concrete without loss of data. HardFilm delivers a reliable, rugged and secure solution that withstands shock of 5,000Gs!

Many photographers have already switched to a HardFilm workflow and archival storage – a much simpler solution – images are easier to find compared to CD or DVD. Entire jobs can be stored on HardFilm including raw and final files. With today’s 22mp and 39mp digital backs, more space is required to house images safely. HardFilm is available and used worldwide, safely delivering data back to photographers, clients, and DFStudio™ from remote FedEx drops around the globe.

Most current interfaces are available for HardFilm: USB 2.0, Firewire and PCMCIA. As interfaces change, new cables can be made available.

Pricing & Availability

HardFilm is available in sizes from 60 GB to 160 GB and speeds from 4200 to 7200-rpm. The enclosure is about the size of a PDA, and only weighs 8 oz. Prices range from $139 to $439 (USD) depending on capacity and speed. Drives are available with or without a Firewire cable. There is no need for a power supply, because HardFilm is powered by the Firewire bus (an optional power adapter is available).
