For Steve Wood, photography is the perfect vehicle for capturing inspiration — those individual moments of awe and profound clarity that simultaneously elevate and floor you. His most recent work, a collection of nature and natural beauty, exemplifies that art of expression. It reinforces those moments that sometimes evade us, reuniting the viewer with the intrinsic elegance of our world.
As Steve captures each instance, he is constantly reminded of that which motivates him. He is uniquely able to convey those feelings in a universal language through photography, effectively producing a dynamic of togetherness and liberation in otherwise esoteric fleeting occurrences in time.
Working exclusively with DigitalFusion Artist Anna Bolek, Steve is able to seamlessly construct his work. Together, they are able to compose his breathtaking images in a perfect blend of editing and creative finesse.
Preparing for his latest show, Steve teamed with Anna to choose selects and arrange the installation. Unlike himself, Anna "is not emotionally involved; she helped him define a stronger aesthetic and point of view." With outside perception, the sometimes tedious task of editing became fun, a way for both Steve and Anna to revisit those moments and composite "an experience, something that he and others will respond to."
"The things that resonate most deeply are the things that I don't have to think about," says Steve. His time working with Anna was no exception. Their creative process was a work of art in itself, to the point that they understood each other without needing words. When asked about their experience together, Anna simply stated: "His photographs are gorgeous; it was a natural and effortless journey, and the finished product reflects that."
